Sometimes, we look at Instagram and all we see is a photo—not a real story 💜 Lately, I’ve kinda had the winter blues and it didn’t feel right to come on here and act like every day was just 🍑, ya feel? I’ve just been focusing on friends and family and I have to give this guy a special shoutout for just being the best bc he is so supportive and makes my anxiety melt away.
💜 Happy to say, I’m feeling better and am excited for spring to add some sunshine! (Which means alllll the content ☺️)

When people find out I have #Type1Diabetes, the first response I usually get is “you must be so strong” 🌿 some days that feels true, and others not so much. Having an #invisibleillness, most people don’t understand what exactly makes me strong. They don’t see the 40,000+ needles that have poked me 💉, the thousands of juice boxes that have saved me from low blood sugars 🥤, or the anxiety every time I see my @dexcom arrows go up and down 🖤 But, to me, those things don’t make me “strong” because I don’t have a choice to do those things. Since I have an incurable, chronic illness, I have to do those things to stay alive.

So, what truly makes me “strong”? 🌿 I feel strong when my story inspires someone. I feel strong when I don’t let diabetes get in the way. I feel strong when I follow God’s plan for me 🙏🏻 If #typeonediabetes has taught me anything it’s to face your challenges fearlessly, to live passionately, and to love yourself whole heartedly 💓 If you’ve made it this far—you are a blessing, stay true to you in everything you do! ✨
