The B Series: B Happy

Welcome to the first ever The 'B' Series! About a week ago, I asked you what type of content you wanted to see more of on The Letter Bea. An overwhelming majority of you voted for wellness topics! So, in the spirit of building this community, I decided to start a weekly series called "The 'B' Series". The 'B' Series will focus on different themes each week, based off what I was up to and what advice I have to give. This week's topic? B Happy.

Happiness is a weird concept. Throughout the course of our lives (or even days...) what makes us happy can change. This week, I spent a lot of time reflecting on my past year. It's crazy how much has happened. I landed my first full-time job, graduated college, moved to St. Louis, MO, moved in with my boyfriend, started my blog....and so much more. When life gets crazy, it's easy to feel lost. This past week, I realized I needed to start listening to my mind and my heart. What am I passionate about? Where do I want to spend my time?

"...we should be thriving and living our best life!"

Since I've had my revelation that I should be taking my happiness into my own hands, I've been constantly telling Matthew, "We're 22! We should be thriving and living our best life!". We both laughed when I first said it, but then we took a moment to let it soak in. What can we do to make this happen? Many ideas came to mind....adventure, travel, spontaneous moments. We quickly realized that we shouldn't let life limit us. We shouldn't let a 8-5 job prevent us from seeing the world, we shouldn't let a "diet" stop us from enjoying a birthday celebration with friends, or letting money stop us from trying new things. There are so many things we can do to find our own happiness. Here are a few things that have worked for me:

Get outside.

I am a firm believer that fresh air and a lot of sun can do wonders to your mood. If you can, jet-set to a perfect weekend getaway. 

Work your booty.

Remember when Elle Woods reminded us that people who work out are just...happier? She wasn't lying! You'll say thank you after.

Take a chill pill.

Some days we're just not feeling it. Take a bubble bath or turn on Netflix, your brain needs it!

Pamper yo'self.

This was something I needed. Whether it's a massage or deserve self love!

Be okay with not being okay.

Truth is life is not perfect. (Hello, Type 1 Diabetes!). Accept the worst, then challenge to make it your strength.

Say a little prayer.

Faith goes a long way. Trusting God in his plan for me has eased my mind, drastically.

Find a hobby.

Sometimes, I giggle at the fact that I call myself a "blogger" because at the end of the day, I'm just doing something I love. Spend more time doing the things that make your heart skip a beat.

I'll continue to share tips with y'all on what I'm finding works for me. But, the biggest thing you should take away from this post is that your happiness is in your hands! Embrace who you are and love it, because you only have one life to live.
