After a few weeks off, I am excited to get back to my blog in 2019! To get us started, I’m sharing my goals for the new year because if you don’t write it down, you can’t hold yourself accountable! Without further adieu, here are my goals for 2019…
#1: Put ‘Me’ First
Right off the bat, this sounds selfish. But, what I really want this goal to focus on is putting my health and happiness first. I’ve found that the past five years have been spent with putting others first or just saying “I’m okay for now” in hopes that I would find my purpose. This year, I want to put my happiness first and chase my dreams like never before. That means taking actions to become my best self!
#2: Lower my A1C
For those of you who aren’t familiar with an A1C, it is essentially the measurement of your blood sugar average over the past 3 months. It serves as a key indicate for Type 1 Diabetics to measure their management. Over the years (a little over ten to be exact), it’s been easy to sacrifice my T1D needs to fit in. This year, I want to get more serious with my management and do everything I can to lower this number! After all, health is most important.
#3: Save More
Being twenty-something, saving is so important. I was so proud of my savings in 2018 and now I want to challenge myself to save even more! Preparing for the future is very important and this is such an easy every day task to help you do so.
#4: Get Outside
Another “sounds simple” goal. Not having a house, it’s easy to stay cooped up in my apartment after a long day at work. In 2019, I want to get outside and start enjoying the outdoors more! Whether that means hitting up a beach or taking our sweet golden retriever, Lucy, out for a stroll on a trail!
#5: Grow My Side Hustle
This post wouldn’t be written if it weren’t for this! The past year has taught me a lot about who I want to become as an influencer/blogger. With a clear vision, I am excited to grow my side hustle this year. It’s not so much about reaching a bigger following, but more about growing this community. There are so many awesome readers and I’m excited to get connected!
#6: Get Fit
This year, I committed to the Kayla Itsines SWEAT App to follow the #BBG workout program. With a crazy schedule, it can be hard to carve out time for the gym, but with this program, I can workout right in my living room! I’m hoping to complete the 12-week program once if not twice!
Lastly, a huge goal of mine this year is to jet off to some new locations. While it can be hard with only so much PTO, I want to spend more weekends experiencing something new, and hopefully a week or two soaking up the sun on a grand trip somewhere inspiring. We’ll see where my journeys take me!
